Hike-Life Series: Mesa Peak Motorway (Corral Canyon Trailhead)
I’m back with yet another hike life series highlight. This time it’s Mesa Peak Motorway (Corral Canyon Trailhead) in Malibu. Malibu has the most beautiful trails and I wanted to highlight this one specifically for its distance and beauty. I am not going to go too much into this hike because I was strictly here for the views. I maybe hiked about 2 miles walking around exploring the place. I mean can you blame me? Look at these rock formations!
This particular location is said to be where Jim Morrison’s infamous cave is located, but I don’t believe the cave I was in was his. I’ll be sure to be back next time to explore more since it was blazing hot this time around. I really love this location because it has the same characteristics of some of my favorite hikes. They usually include 3 things: ocean views, waterfalls and rocks/caves. This one was void of waterfalls, but the ocean views, rocks and caves all checked out.
Exploring has truly kept me sane in this crazy world right now and I hope it inspires you all to get out there and do the same. There is versatility on these hiking trails and for those that are weary of hiking to Timbuktu in order to witness some beauty, here’s proof. Please note once driving to this location you will pass the Solstice Canyon entrance and drive upward towards the peak. The trailhead address is: 301 Corral Canyon Road, Malibu, CA 90265
